ZEDO launches ad serving product with adDisplay™ duration measurement

San Francisco, Calif. – September 2, 2001 – ZEDO, Inc., the Third Generation Ad Serving company, today announced the launch of its edgeServing™ product. The Third Generation Ad Serving architecture eliminates much of the hardware and data centers used in second generation technologies. The architectures uses browser intelligence: Java Script “ad servers” running on end user computers as in peer to peer architectures. The Java Script “ad servers” allow ZEDO to track ad delivery on the browser, including how long ads are visible to web users (adDisplay™ duration) and how click through rates vary across sites that have longer adDisplay™ durations.

edgeServing™ for Advertisers

Reacting to customer demand from advertisers for more effective ways to measure Internet advertising ZEDO has launched a new advertiser product with full post click tracking and sophisticated reporting. The flagship feature of this product is the ability to track how long ads were displayed to users, on any site, for any type of creative. This Ad Display duration allows advertisers to optimize and buy space on sites and areas of sites, where the ads are displayed longest to users.

“ZEDO edgeServing™ for advertisers provides advertisers with a new level of tracking data and analysis. Traditionally advertisers are forced to pay every time an ad is requested from a server, regardless of whether an ad gets to a browser or not. Advertisers have no idea if or how many ads reach the web page. With ZEDO technology advertisers will know which ads reach web pages and even which ads are displayed to users for 5 seconds or more. For example, if users on one site scroll down instantly and hardly see the ads, then the advertisers will know exactly how many of their ad impressions on were displayed for 5 seconds and how many were wasted. They can then adjust their media plan accordingly.”

ZEDO launches easy to use, cost effective “Pop Under” serving

San Francisco, Calif. – July 5, 2001 – ZEDO, Inc., the Third Generation Ad Serving company, today announced the expansion of its product line to include pop under and pop up ad serving. Details of this technology can be found at www.ZEDO.com/technology and from the white paper available on the ZEDO site.

New Pop Under Serving

Reacting to customer demand ZEDO today launched its cutting edge, easy to use and low cost pop under serving. ZEDO introduces selfTargeting™ technology, the world’s most targeted, relevant ads on the web

ZEDO introduces selfTargeting™ technology, the world’s most targeted, relevant ads on the web

San Francisco, Calif. – November 7, 2000 – ZEDO, Inc., the leading advertising technology company, providing a targeted advertising solutions for publishers, today announced the launch of its selfTargeted™ advertising technology using the ZEDO adRemote™. adRemote™ is a revolutionary self targeting product that allows users to opt-in to the type banner ads they want to receive. It provides the targeting key-word-search quality targeting to all high volume sites.

Understanding what products the consumer wants to buy is the key to effective advertising. Key-word-searches get users choose the advertising they get: they get ads on what they searched for. Similarly the adRemote™ gets users to choose the advertising they get. If a user chooses AUTOS and SUVs, then they get SUV ads. This creates the best possible quality of opt-in targeting. Rather than guessing what products the consumer wants, ZEDO asks them, using a fun and simple interface. Like key-word-search targeting, this is a pull technology. Tests have shown increases in click through rates of 2 times to 10 times for selfTargeted™ ads.

“The former generation of targeting attempted to predict what the customer wanted to buy based on the type of news they were reading. However this type of targeting has not yielded high CPMs for publishers.” says Roy de Souza, CEO of ZEDO, Inc. “Consumer choice is key. Perfect advertising should know at any point of time what the consumer’s needs are and delivery ads based on this needs. That is exactly what we do at ZEDO with our adRemote™.”

ZEDO Named to OTA 2012 Online Trust Honor Roll

San Francisco, CA and New York, NY –June 6, 2012 (PRWEB) June 11, 2012 —

ZEDO today announced it is a recipient of the Online Trust Alliance (OTA) 2012 Online Trust Honor Roll, based on a composite trust score of security and privacy measures at hundreds of online sites. Designed to recognize leadership, the Honor Roll distinguishes ZEDO as a “North Star” to inspire others. As part of the 2012 study, released June 6, 2012, OTA analyzed the adoption of key security and privacy initiatives, providing benchmark reporting and comparisons between key industry sectors including leading internet retailers, FDIC Top 100 Banks, and social networking sites. Of the companies evaluated by the non-profit, member-based OTA, less than 30% made the grade.

“Today’s businesses are stewards of ever-increasing amounts of users’ personal and sensitive data that necessitate the implementation of privacy and security best practices,” said Craig Spiezle, executive director and president, Online Trust Alliance. “Being a member of the 2012 OTA Online Trust Honor Roll means ZEDO has demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment towards online safety, to enhancing the vitality of the internet, and, most importantly, to consumer trust.”

“ZEDO is thrilled to be awarded 2012 OTA Online Trust Honor Roll status, demonstrating our continued commitment to privacy and security best practices, which are of critical importance to our Premium Publishers, brand advertisers and their agencies as they engage with users,” said Paul Prior, President, ZEDO, Inc.
The 2012 report examined over 1,200 domains and privacy policies, approximately 3,600 web pages and over 500 million emails. In addition, public records were analyzed for recent data breach incidents and settlements with the FTC.

The focus of the OTA Online Trust Honor Roll is to:

  1. Recognize exemplary efforts of leading companies toward data and user protection, as security & privacy efforts, and highlight them as “North Stars.” Organizations on the Honor Roll manage data via security best practices while having transparent privacy practices.
  2. Demonstrate OTA’s commitment towards providing prescriptive advice, tools and resources to businesses to enhance the security and privacy of the internet.
  3. Underscore the importance of focusing on security and privacy holistically, and that individual security and privacy initiatives cannot be pursued in isolation.
  4. Provide benchmark scoring, using the Online Trust Index (OTI) and reported data attributes, for companies to evaluate their own sites, for businesses to use in evaluating partners, and for consumers to consider when interacting or doing business online.

Since 2010, the OTA Online Trust Honor Roll has recognized organizations that follow best practices in data security and privacy. In previous years, the study was named the OTA Online Safety Honor Roll and Scorecard Honor Roll. Recipients have risen from 8% of sites analyzed in 2010, to 25% in 2011, to nearly 30% in 2012.

As one of those organizations, it is part of our mission to serve and protect both our partners and their users. If you have any questions about online privacy rules and how you can comply, please feel free to contact us and we’ll help you understand them.

San Francisco, CA June 14, 2012

SceneChat, an interactive social video advertising company addressing the video abandonment and goal conversion needs of brand marketers, researchers and educators, today announced an agreement with Zedo Advertising to deliver interactive display ads into the SceneChat network – globally. SceneChat is a self-serve solution for marketers looking to increase video engagement and conversions. The Zedo / SceneChat combination will provide video companion display ad capabilities that help marketers augment video creative with dynamically driven display advertising. Marketers can create a more integrated messaging experience for prospects by timing placement of display ads with a specific call-to-action synced to a video. A San Francisco advertising software and production firm is refocusing on newspapers as it beefs up its stable of services.

Zedo began courting newspapers in early 2010 and counts as clients a number of dailies, the firm said.

The company recently launched an ad operations service team that can serve as a paper’s online advertising operation, and also partnered with Maroon Ventures, headed by a former Yahoo Newspaper Consortium exec, to provide ad consulting and other support.

“We believe there isn’t an advertising technology provider that can help newspapers with their online sales,” said Liz Kulin, marketing manager.

In addition to ad consulting, Zedo provides outsourced ad production, ad management software, network optimization and self-service ad services.

The company said it will release additional details about its service offerings to newspapers in the coming weeks.
